Network of Alliance Française of Ecuador
The Alliance Française network in Ecuador presents “Digital Art, Digital Culture” by Houda Bakkali. The exhibition merges physical artworks and augmented reality, allowing audiences to experience art in a different way — more immersive, more playful, and more interactive. In addition, the exhibition is complemented by a virtual gallery, multimedia content, and educational and informative resources on digital art, its uses, applications, and challenges.
The exhibition is part of Digital November, an event promoted globally by the French Institute to foster digital art and digital culture, and is being held simultaneously in different cities across Ecuador: Loja, Cuenca, Portoviejo, Guayaquil, and Quito.
Digital art and technologies such as augmented reality, virtual spaces, and multimedia resources help amplify the message, creating a dynamic and two-way communication around the artworks and the spaces hosting them. These proposals place the public experience at the centre, taking art beyond aesthetics and encouraging debate and participation around new technologies applied to creativity, universalising not only digital art itself, but also its creative tools, making them more accessible, approachable, and understandable.
Alongside the exhibition, the programme also includes educational encounters and discussions with local and Francophone communities.
