Masterclass “Creativity and New Technologies Beyond Art” conducted by Houda Bakkali at the Alliance Française of Tegucigalpa, Honduras

Within the framework of the Month of Francophonie 2026, an international event celebrating the diversity of Francophone cultures, Houda Bakkali conducted a masterclass titled “CREATIVITY AND NEW TECHNOLOGIES BEYOND ART” at the Alliance Française of Tegucigalpa, Honduras.

An event attended by teachers and students of the Alliance Française, in which the challenges and advantages of new technologies applied to art were addressed, as well as their impact on areas such as communication and marketing, their influence on cultural institutions and traditional artistic practice, and the new opportunities they create for creatives in fields such as medical-scientific research, education, and tourism.

The workshop was structured in two parts: a first theoretical section and a second practical section focused on augmented reality, exploring some of its tools, uses, and applications, as well as the challenges this technology represents in art and how it can take it beyond the limits of the canvas. Participants also explored the creative process through an example focused on the relationship between creativity and science.

“New technologies applied to art open new opportunities for cultural institutions and creatives. They add versatility and new languages that enrich the art ecosystem from different perspectives. Understanding some of these technologies, how they are impacting society, their uses and applications, approaching the strengths and weaknesses of their tools, or determining when and why to make use of them, are the main objectives of this workshop. To learn, compare, practice, and debate an innovation that is already part of the normality of our present and that invites us to learn, move forward, be creative, and build the future through deep knowledge,” comments Houda Bakkali.
