Inspired by the female figure, vibrant colors, and a hopeful vision of life, the artwork Passionately by Houda Bakkali forms part of the very first artistic Web3 initiative launched by TIME, the iconic, century-old publication and the first weekly magazine in the United States. Being selected among the first digital artists worldwide for an NFT drop by the prestigious TIME magazine marked a defining moment in the artist’s career.
In September 2021, TIME invited Bakkali to participate in its inaugural Web3 artist program, recognizing her work at a pivotal moment when digital art and blockchain technologies were beginning to reshape the contemporary creative landscape. As part of this pioneering initiative, she presented her work at Dreamverse, the world’s first exhibition dedicated to digital art and Web3 technologies, held in New York City in November 2021.
