From the Metaverse to the Universe: Sweet Reset
From virtual galleries to metaverses, immersive spaces have evolved over time, adapting to the rapid pace of new technologies, new tools, and the new uses they have gradually acquired.
While in 2021 virtual galleries provided me with the perfect space -and still do today- to showcase my work and share the virtual experience anytime, anywhere, metaverses also arrived with the wow factor, designed for entertainment but also adapted for far more promising long-term applications.
Today, the buzzword “metaverse” has quietly faded into the background, while these immersive spaces continue to serve as useful and practical tools for simulations, corporate presentations, educational and medical environments.
Impact on EdTech Spaces
One of the advantages for the education sector, particularly online education, is that these spaces allow us to collaborate in real time, update information, and measure the results of our activities. This is especially valuable in educational and corporate settings, as it makes it easier to bring together diverse audiences from different parts of the world. They allow us to interact through interactive, multimedia, and 3D tools, enriching the experience and enabling us to incorporate playful elements as well as resources that can complement not only educational strategies but also communication and marketing strategies.
Breaking down the barriers of space and time makes it possible to create global campuses, truly living virtual laboratories where trial and error can take place through personalized branching pathways and simulations capable of increasing the level of detail while reducing production and equipment costs.

Communication and Health
In healthcare communication, these spaces offer added value by enabling the dissemination of medical knowledge through dynamic resources that allow us to design more visual and interactive ways of presenting complex diagnoses, explain medical conditions through 3D and multimedia, and promote global information, prevention, and awareness campaigns that can be updated, are designed to encourage greater participation, and reach new audiences.
It is truly fascinating to build in this field and witness the impressive evolution of the application of art and technology to healthcare communication. Although today it is a branding attraction and a highly sought-after resource for filling event schedules, its responsible use in the sector can bring significant benefits to citizens.

Full Awareness: From Concept to Implementation
While it is true that art opens a window into emotions, allowing us to connect with audiences through our own creativity and artistic signature, it is that first interface of knowledge, with technology acting as the driving force that helps us expand it. Technology also confronts us with the different realities I have highlighted so often: obsolescence, the need to create with discernment, the importance of knowing how to select the right tools and adapt them to each context, environment, and objective, and the need to measure results. Shorter learning curves, countless creation tools, countless platforms. Making the right choices is a major challenge; understanding what we are talking about and who we are speaking to is an even greater one.
Technology also presents the risk of unequal access. The digital divide is a reality in many contexts, which is why, when considering the creation of these spaces, we must always think about the audience we are addressing. And here I emphasize the importance of approaching these projects with the utmost responsibility, time, and attention to detail.Knowing what we are doing at every step and creating, from concept to implementation, with maximum awareness.

The Privilege of Art
And here comes the crown jewel: personalization. Today, despite the very real and existing digital divide already mentioned, everything seems increasingly within everyone’s reach.
Virtual reality, augmented reality, 3D environments, interactive and multimedia resources—everything that can bring our virtual environments to life can be created in seconds. The technology is there, but how do we use it with purpose, how do we humanize it, how do we transform its obsolescent nature into something timeless? Art can be the first link in the chain. Our identity, our creative signature, our vision, the aesthetics that speak of us and our world. Art is art. It will envelop each universe and invite people to discover it, even to enjoy it, remember it, and share it.

From the Metaverse to the Universe
If a few years ago the metaverse was the trend and -at least in my case- I explored these spaces with interest and have closely followed their evolution, today technological developments make it possible to create bespoke virtual environments designed to turn each project into a tailor-made experience. Where creativity and the artist’s signature become added value, technology becomes a challenge placed at the service of the user to enrich their experience, and an extraordinary gateway opens our projects to the world, allowing them to circulate with a single click. Today, perhaps few of us even remember the metaverse, because we can now imagine, create, and expand our own universes.
