Alliance Française of Piura presented Houda Bakkali’s Digital Art, Digital Culture project in Piura, Peru, as part of Digital November, the international initiative of the Institut français promoting digital cultures around the world. The itinerant programme combined physical and immersive digital art exhibitions with academic activities, and was presented across key cultural, leisure venues and educational institutions, including the Alliance Française of Piura, the University of Piura, the Antenor Orrego Private University (UPAO) and Mallplaza Piura.
Through exhibitions, public participation and educational initiatives, Bakkali’s project encouraged audiences to explore the opportunities and challenges of digital art beyond conventional exhibition formats and spaces. As part of the programme, Bakkali delivered an academic lecture for university students and cultural professionals at UPAO, exploring the evolving role of artists in the digital era and how digital art can act as a catalyst for education, cultural innovation and public engagement.
