Exploring the ‘Digital Art, Digital Culture’ an Immersive Exhibition in Ecuador

The Alliance Française network in Ecuador presents “Digital Art, Digital Culture” by Houda Bakkali. The exhibition merges physical artworks with augmented reality, allowing the public to experience art in a different way: more immersive, more playful and more interactive. The exhibition is also complemented by a virtual gallery, multimedia content, and educational and informative resources about digital art, its uses, applications and challenges.

The exhibition is part of Novembre Numérique, an event promoted worldwide by the Institute Française to support digital art and emerging digital cultures. It takes place simultaneously in different cities across Ecuador: Loja, Cuenca, Portoviejo, Guayaquil and Quito, combining the exhibition program with educational meetings and public talks involving local and Francophone communities.

Digital art and technologies such as augmented reality, virtual spaces and multimedia resources help enhance the message, creating a dynamic and bidirectional form of communication around the artworks and the spaces hosting them. These projects place special emphasis on the public experience, taking art beyond aesthetics while promoting debate and participation around new technologies applied to creativity, universalizing not only digital art itself, but also its creative tools, making them more approachable, more accessible and easier to understand.
