Where communication, health, art and immersive technologies converge.
Since 2009, Houda Bakkali has developed an extensive body of work in the field of health and medical communication, bringing together art, technology, education, and public engagement through multidisciplinary and internationally oriented projects. Her practice explores new ways of translating scientific and medical knowledge into accessible and visually engaging experiences.
Through interviews with nearly 200 leading physicians from diverse medical specialities, her work examines the transformative potential of communication within healthcare contexts. This body of work, recognised with the WIS Certificate (Web of Health Interest), has been published in both specialised and general media. Alongside this ongoing practice, she has developed editorial, multimedia, interactive, and extended reality initiatives conceived across institutional, educational, and international frameworks.
Her contribution to health communication through art and emerging technologies has received international recognition. In 2026, she was awarded the American Illustration Award (New York) for “Breast Cancer Awareness”, and in 2024 for “Art for Health”, projects focused on strengthening clarity, accessibility, and engagement in medical communication through creativity and visual culture.
Previously, her project Creativity Against COVID-19 became part of the global #UNCOVID19BRIEF initiative launched by the United Nations in 2020, later receiving recognition from the International Motion Awards (New York) in 2021.

Her practice positions art as a critical interface through which scientific information and medical knowledge are translated into accessible experiences grounded in scientific accuracy and responsible communication.
Conceived as an ongoing, multidisciplinary and scalable practice, her work spans vector illustration, animation, audiovisual and multimedia production, interactive content, creative e-learning, immersive environments, AR, VR and XR. Through these complementary formats, scientific and medical knowledge can circulate across physical and digital contexts, expanding access beyond spatial, temporal and generational boundaries.
