International Motion Awards Honors Houda Bakkali’s Creative Contribution to Global Health Awareness

There is no doubt that the COVID-19 pandemic changed the way the world was understood, reshaping perspectives on present and future realities. However, this crisis also revealed positive aspects, such as solidarity and a strong sense of unity. One clear example was the call made by the United Nations (UN) inviting creatives from around the world to join the fight against the coronavirus through art and creativity.

The #UNCOVIDBRIEF19 campaign, developed through the Talenthouse platform, resulted in a selection of more than 16,000 works, including video pieces, infographics, comics, illustrations, animation, and a wide range of creative projects aimed at raising awareness about safety measures against the virus, sharing WHO recommendations, and offering a colorful and optimistic vision to help people cope with this unprecedented situation. Houda Bakkali’s work “Stay Home” was featured on social media throughout the campaign and later received the “International Motion Awards” in New York, a competition judged by art directors from publications such as The Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker, The Washington Post, and Entertainment Weekly, among others.

Through this work, Houda Bakkali focuses on a hopeful and vibrant perspective that conveys dynamism in the face of a crisis that brought a new reality, while also creating an opportunity to continue promoting health-related content through every possible medium, expression, and format. Without a doubt, video art has become a powerful ally in achieving this purpose.
